Apple has announced that iOS 8 will be released on September 17th and will be available for iPhone 4S and later. Symantec is committed to supporting Apple iOS operating system versions on day zero of their release. We have been testing iOS 8 beta releases with our existing Symantec App Center 4.4 and the upcoming 5.0 release and will support iOS 8 on both. Existing customers have received a notice with instructions on how to prepare their environments.
The new iOS features a number of enterprise-friendly capabilities designed to increase productivity and make managing iOS devices easier for IT organizations. New features such as data management and content filtering demonstrate the importance of thinking beyond MDM and supports Symantec’s mobility mission to provide a single enterprise mobility platform that securely manages apps and data, in addition to the device.
